The past few days the kids and I have been doing collaborative drawings on envelopes and sheets of paper.
Everett usually starts, then asks me to draw something then colors and finally Delilah shows up.
At least that’s how it started.
But Delilah has become obsessed with coloring so the majority of the crayon scribbles you see to the left are hers.
She spent hoooooouuuuuuuuuurs on the envelope on the top yesterday.
And that is no exaggeration.
All of this collaborative drawing made me remember that I’d intended to work on some illustration stuff with the kiddos. For fun, but also hopefully with artsy results.
And I also remembered I’d been thinking about doing a zine at one point.
And that I still haven’t reworked my book idea like I’d meant to.
All of that sewing I had to do on the baby quilts overshadowed those thoughts, and my memory is horrid these days so it’s no wonder I completely forgot. I mean, I’ve let my milk boil over several times now in my yogurt making efforts, because I forget I’ve started the minute I walk out of the kitchen.
I should probably take some memory boosting vitamin or something.
Anyway, I’m thinking it’s time to start working on that story again. Fleshing it out more. Rethinking the art. And I think I’m going to share it with you while I do. So be on the lookout for that.
I mean, my sewing machine is out of commission and I just spent my money on a piano so I don’t think I’ll be getting to those sewing projects I’ve got lined up for gifts yet. Might as well find something else creative to do that doesn’t involve spending money, right?
