I’ve been trying to come up with some clever way to say hi to anyone who tumbles over from the Ultimate Blog Party, alas I am apparently not that clever right now. Why don’t I just do it old school, eh?
For instance, I like to mess around with self portraits.
You know…just for fun.
My husband the author/librarian/local history guru sometimes leans on my one true skill as an idea generator in his professional and non-professional projects, which sure does make a girl feel useful.
I also enjoy exercising my crafty gene and trying my hand at different things. Like sewing, cooking, drawing, polymer clay constructions and pretty much anything that looks fun.

Aside from being an idea generator, a crafty mckcrafterson and an agri-girl, I am also a photographer and graphic designer who works from home. Not to mention a dreamer who hopes to one day find enough concentration space to actually pound out the stories that have bounced around my head my whole life. But having two small kids kind of makes that tough right now.
Speaking of which, I have two small kids!
The boy child’s name is Everett and he is a handful. I love him dearly but sometimes he does things that boggle my mind. Like when he recently used the bathroom where he shouldn’t have. Oh boy. But he’s also full of awkward white boy dance moves, likes to sing songs he makes up on the fly and loves nothing as much as playing with other kids. Luckily we just had neighbors move in that have 8 kids, so he’s not going to run short of playmates any time soon.
Then there’s the girl child, Delilah. She is a toddling bundle of spit n’ vinegar. Equal parts adorable cuddling sweetness and shrieking demanding diva she is everything I could have hoped for in a daughter. Honestly, there’s nothing cuter than waking up with a grinning red head inches from your face who without fail says, “hi” first thing in the morning to you. Well, except maybe when she wakes up in her own bed, because being able to sleep without being kicked is kind of awesome to tell the truth.
Aside from flesh and blood children, we also have two adopted fur-kids and three hard backed children we sort of inherited from my great aunt. The fur kids stay indoors, except when they sneak out the back door before it’s closed, and mostly get along. Bailey, the black cat, is the oldest, but Mew, the fluffball, is the most aggressive.
Our three Eastern Box Turtles were given to me when they were hatchlings. Don’t worry, they weren’t caught in the wild, my great aunt had five adult turtles she kept as pets who laid eggs every year. She tried to find them good homes and these three were the last siblings born from those pets. They’ve been together for the past 9 years, living with me as I moved from place to place and now they live here in Ohio. We keep them in an outdoor habitat my husband built during the warm months and bring them inside to hibernate for the winter.

That, in a whirl, is me and as such, what my blog is about. Sometimes I do book reviews, on rare occasions I will do a sponsored post and when possible I participate in handmade swaps and craft-a-longs. I hope you enjoyed the tour and that you maybe saw something that will cause you to stick around and introduce yourself back!
Consider adding me to your various social networking accounts too. I am always on the lookout for new books to pilfer from someone’s GoodReads list, or new people to chat with on Twitter and Instagram. And hey, I’m a little picky about what I Pin, so if you are interested in fun craft/sewing ideas but don’t want to be inundated with 52million things on repeat..my Pinterest boards aren’t a bad idea either.
My apologies to everyone who commented from UBP who’s comments are no longer here. I’m not quite sure what happened, but somehow Intense Debate dropped off this one single post. Weirdness. I appreciate you all having come by and I made sure to give you follow back’s so all is not lost.
